As one of the area’s top ten credit unions, Rivertown Community Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution owned and operated by its members. Rivertown serves more than 11,000 members from three offices in Grandville , Wyoming and Walker , Michigan .

Under the direction of corporate leadership and a volunteer board of directors, Rivertown will continue to encourage innovation and maintain and promote growth of the credit union to ensure its success for its members.

Rivertown Community Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative headquartered in Grandville, MI. Organized in 1949, Rivertown (Formerly Stampers Federal Credit Union) was formed as a place to invest and save for the employees of the General Motors Corporation, Grand Rapids Stamping Division. In May 1986, after a merger with NorthEnd Federal Credit Union, Rivertown added its Northend Branch in Walker, MI. Today, with nearly $70 million in assets, Rivertown serves more than 11,000 member/owners from throughout West Michigan .

Operating Principles
Rivertown Community Federal Credit Union's operating principles represent its core values and guide its daily operations to meet the financial needs of its member/owners.

Democratic Structure - Membership in the credit union is voluntary and is open to all within the common bond. Rivertown operates democratically; each member/owner has an equal voice, regardless of the size of his or her account balance or any other factor. This practice prevents excessive influence from being concentrated in the hands of the few and helps ensure the credit union operates in the best interest of all.

Service to Member/Owners - Our number one goal; to improve the economic and social well being of all members by encouraging thrift through savings and providing loans and other services while building financial strength for the credit union to ensure continued service to our membership.

Social Goals -The credit union actively promotes the education of member/owners, officers and employees in thrift, the wise use of credit, the rights and responsibilities of membership while continuing the ideals and beliefs of a true cooperative.

Membership Eligibility
Membership is open to persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in and businesses and other legal entities located in Kent County . Membership is also open to the spouse, children, siblings, parents, grandparents, grandchildren, stepparents, stepchildren, stepsiblings, adoptive relationships, or any person living in the same residence and maintaining a single economic unit of a current member. Once you become a member, you are a member for life as long as you maintain a share account in good standing.
